I got to help construct floats and the big wall-rose for the Tournament of Roses Parade this year, so I had to show off some of my insider knowledge (all the things on Ondine's TV were actual floats in the 2001 parade; they're just badly drawn and then further mangled by resizing). The wall-rose is made with carnations. Lots and lots of carnations, in lots of colors, glued to a chicken-wire frame that has guidelines to show where each color of carnation should go. And we ran out of white. |
