Age: 21

Snail Dust's main character was once a close representation of the author, but over the years has evolved into more of her own entity. Owning talking snails helps with that part. Ondine is sometimes weird, often confusing, and generally content with her lot as an easily-amused individual of the geek persuasion. She lives at home with the rest of the Gianti clan.

Age: "late 30s"

The Gianti matriarch and family head. She tends to look tired, but wouldn't you be, having to work two jobs to keep that trailer roof over your kids' heads?

Craig Gianti

Age: 17

Craig is Ondine's younger brother. They mostly get along okay, although she does tend to wind up giving him death threats rather often. He really, really likes watching TV. Like, a lot.

Age: 20

Percy and Ondine have been friends since they were young. He's become rather busy with college, but they still occasionally get together to spend time playing video games, discuss sci-fi entertainment, and do similar geeky things.

Cassie
Cassie Train

Age: 19

Cassie is Percy's little sister, and is friends with Ondine and Andy. She is terribly, terribly cute. And rather evil as well.

Andromeda
Andromeda Calliope Montgomery-Sloan

Age: 22

Most often known as Andy, though she does have any other number of nicknames. She and Ondine met in high school, and still hang out, even though Andy's gone on to a job, and Ondine to college. Andy has a finely-tuned love of the amusement gained from movies, people, products, &c, that take themselves too seriously.

Daniel
Daniel

Age: 20something.

Daniel and Ondine met at the zoo, amidst a few misunderstandings that were eventually sorted out. He, like Ondine, was sucked into Eta Mu Pi, and finds them an agreeable enough sort to stick around with them.

Josh
Joshua Hawk

Age: Won't tell exactly, but somewhere vaguely around 20.

A fellow who's paranoid through and through. No one's even sure if "Joshua Hawk" is his real name, but it's the one he responds to, so it's the one they use. Seems to have an... interesting... handle on the English language.

Ro

Age: 22

Ro has an oddly cynical sense of humor. She regularly dresses up like something she's not, not because she wants to impress or fit in, but because she gets a kick out of watching how much people's perceptions of her change just because of what she looks like.

Corey
Corey

Age: 22

Ro's boyfriend, Corey is a fellow who enjoys the beach and is into magic. Like, the spell-casting kind, not the card game kind. He appears to be simultaneously capable of soaring insights into the human character and acts of sheer moronocity. Neat trick, that.

Mav
Mav

Age: 21

Mav was a good friend of Ondine's who started acting a bit weird (especially when the two of them were joined by any other male individuals), then sort of fell away. His current location is unknown.
